Management

The owner and Registered Manager of the business is Debbie Clark. She is a Registered Nurse in Learning Disability (RNLD), and has over 25 years’ experience working in a wide range of settings, supporting individuals with a wide range of complex needs. This experience includes working in private and voluntary run establishments (including management roles), also working for the NHS and the Local Authority.

Most recently she has worked as a registered manager of a residential care home and as registered manager of the West Sussex Adult Placement Scheme (Shared Lives). In this role she was responsible for running a large countywide care and support service, and for advising and supporting small businesses providing care to individuals. In both roles Debbie developed high quality services which achieved standards in excess of those required by CSCI, (now CQC) the government’s care regulatory body. The Adult Placement Scheme recently having been inspected and graded as excellent.

In recent years Debbie has also led on projects within West Sussex to improve the health of adults with learning disabilities. She was part of the team which developed and piloted Health Action Plan assessments in West Sussex and worked with Primary Care Trusts and local hospitals to improve access to health services. Debbie also led a steering group planning for the care needs of people with Learning Disabilities who develop Dementia, as well as developing and delivering training for West Sussex Adults’ and Children’s Services and Sussex Partnership Trust staff.

As well as Dementia training Debbie provides a comprehensive range of training packages including Autism, Epilepsy, Mental health and Medication Management, a resource that will be used to ensure the competence and knowledge of the staff team.

Debbie is experienced in developing and implementing care packages and in working within the context of individualised budgets and Self Directed Support. She has advised and supported micro enterprises and individuals to develop care and support services, maximising the opportunities to develop person centred housing and care options.
